The Mortgage Bankers Association of Arkansas (MBAA) was incorporated in March of 1959. Original incorporators were: Sam J. Fleming, Rudy Del Donno, A. S. Rosen, and William E. Terry. As today, the object was to encourage sound business practices in the making, marketing, and servicing of real estate mortgage loans. The early leaders had a clear vision for the future and one that would give members of the profession a "louder voice" in the community, state and especially within the legislative arena.

Today, the organization's membership is comprised of professionals from over seventy mortgage banking companies in Arkansas. MBAA has had strong representation from its associate member category and annually hosts an event recognizing their contributions. Associates support the organization with time and money and are appreciated now as they were in 1959.

Opportunities for education and entertainment are varied and frequent! Regular monthly luncheon meetings are held the third Friday of each month and there are a variety of networking opportunities and social events throughout the year. Each Spring MBAA hosts a Convention with Products and Services Exhibition. Over three hundred members from around the state attend this event. In the summer a picnic with volleyball teams and bingo attracts the same numbers for prizes and fun. In the fall the tradition has been to host a workshop outside of central AR that is geared toward production, marketing and sales related subjects. MBAA offers much for its members including full time office personnel.

Strong leadership took the organization from the "trunk of a car" to its present location with spacious offices, up-to-date equipment and professional staff very familiar with the world of associations. A multi-management association, BRM Association Management & Services, LLC offers full time services for part-time fees to the MBAA and other state organizations.
